Happy Birthday, Scout Mountaineers!

My SM family... the original!

My SM family... the original!

I’m overweight. That’s a fact… and I’m trying to do something about it. Alright, alright, “struggling” is the proper word to use.

Many people who have not known me that long wouldn’t believe that many, many, many pounds ago, I used to be a Mountaineer. Yup, read it right… I used to climb (peak) mountains, do regular runs and physical exercises, and my idea of sports is to rappel from heights and scale walls (rock climbing). Lest you think that I’M THE GUY, well, I’m just ordinary stuff from our group — the Scout Mountaineers.

Thinking what I’ve done before… I just miss my old (slim/fit) self! Okay, okay, this blog is not about me… but MY mountaineering group family — founded 12 years ago.

Here is my personal tribute to fun memories… and youth!

Twelve years ago, we hiked and laughed…
Planted not only trees, but hopes and dreams…
We discovered that leading is more of following…
We’ve gone too far but we know that true friends will always be
climbing (dreaming) side by side…
Happy Birthday, Scout Mountaineers!
Let the spirit of ’99 live on… forever!

Post No. 0 — ‘The Precursor’

Red Rajah blogs — yup, that’s the name of my new blog — came into being after I wrote this one blog entry in my TIG blog (you can check it here: http://ernierojo.tigblog.org/post/5046861). I’ve been writing on and off on for my blog hosted by “Taking IT Global” since 2008, and in a number of other personal blogs before that (I’ve lost count and lost the memory of it all).

Thanks to a geek and friend, Noah C. Omamalin, for setting up this WP site for me. This is for free, right?  :)

And here’s the “precursor” blog post which gave birth to Red Rajah blogs. Read on…

“P” is for… Oh my… not again!?!

I would have normally blamed tons of work, travel, slow internet connection, power failures and even the bleak prospect of world peace but viewing my previous posts here and at Facebook had me realizing that I have used up on those reasons. I offer no apologies… since I found this to put blame on: PROCRASTINATION! hahahaha (place evil laugh here)

In psychology, procrastination refers to the act of replacing high-priority actions with tasks of low-priority, and thus putting off important tasks to a later time. (Many people are actually equating this ‘P’ word with ‘F’, [read: Facebook] not the other ‘F’ word.)

In my case, I promised MBS4 (Mindanao Bloggers Summit in Zambo last year to revive my blog) but it will be MBS5 (in Iligan City) at the end of the week and, still, no blog with my name on it. (Except for this one, of course, with all the ‘digital cobwebs’ on it.)

Now, my promise. I will update this blog often. Or I’m actually thinking of putting up a separate blog so I’d be pushed (really!?!) to always maintain it.

(Is checking my fingernails while writing this post a form of procrastination?)

I have a plan to make this possible. I’ve asked a techie-friend to put up a ‘turnkey’ site for me. Relying on my own self doing that would take the Vatican to ‘elect’ the third Pinoy saint before I get to run my own site.

Will announce the new name of MY own blog this week. (Promise, I’m not tapping a pencil before I wrote this… Wikipedia said that it is a form of procrastination.)

ABANGAN!
